The Salish Sea: Sucia Island State Marine Park

Sucia Island [su sha local; su see a in Spanish] is truly the gem of the San Juans, but not so much in summer. There are a lot of boats and there are a lot of people. I'm okay with that as the island doesn't seem overly crowded - but summertime taxes its ability to facilitate all the folks using the facilities which can honestly become unbearable AND there are a lot them! Shallow Bay: three different ones. Even Ewing Cove at the end of a long hike has one. Plenty at Fossil Bay. You get the picture. But they cannot keep up with the quantity of usage.
